Articulated or telescopic truck-mounted aerial platforms: how to choose the right one?

Truck-mounted aerial platforms are lifting machines that can be installed on a truck or van. There are numerous models of truck-mounted aerial platforms with different types of booms that allow for different performances. Safety is paramount and truck-mounted platforms are equipped with hydraulic stabilisers to increase stability, making the machine completely safe.

Truck-mounted aerial platforms are used in a wide variety of terrains and are perfect for working on all types of construction sites. They are capable of lifting weights of between 200 and 600 kg and are perfect machines for working in both open and closed environments, such as construction sites, building facades, industrial sheds, construction, demolition, maintenance, landscaping, tree pruning, lighting poles, and installation of video surveillance systems.

Truck-mounted aerial platforms fall mainly into two categories: articulated boom aerial platforms and telescopic boom aerial platforms. Articulated aerial platforms have an articulated boom, thanks to which it is possible to reach great heights stably and safely. Most models reach a height of between 15 and 25 metres. Telescopic aerial platforms, on the other hand, are equipped with an extendable boom for lifting the operator and can reach heights of more than 40 metres thanks to their versatile design and ability to reach work areas that are difficult to reach directly. Some models of telescopic platforms have an extension called a "Jib" that supports the operator, helping him to get closer to the work area.
