When to choose a vertical aerial platform?
Our vertical platforms for sale are composed of a self-propelled carriage or support that mounts a vertical lifting system with crossed arms (in the case of the pantograph) or a single column (in the case of the column lift) capable of supporting a basket equipped with operating controls.
Maximum height: 6/13 metres depending on the model chosen.
Advantage: can be used indoors and outdoors thanks to their small size and compact structure.
Disadvantage: must be moved by lorry to reach the intervention site.
Due to their compactness and small size, self-propelled aerial platforms are suitable for construction work, and installation of electrical, plumbing and air conditioning systems, and facilitate operations at heights for painters, drywallers, bricklayers and anyone who has to work at medium heights. At height, they can also move slightly by means of a sliding walkway. The very low centre of gravity also increases the stability of the vehicle.
Scissor lifts
These aerial platforms mount two crossed arms on a self-propelled carriage, which lifts the basket in height as they extend. Thanks to the compact but robust base frame, the basket mounted on these units can extend overhead, providing a comfortable location for personnel and materials. The sliding walkway positioned in the platform allows the utilisable surface to be further extended, for lateral movement at height.
Column lifts
Column lifts or single mast lifts consist of a self-propelled carriage on which a single hydraulic extension arm is mounted, which when activated allows the basket anchored at its end to be lifted to a height. Thanks to the presence of a single lifting column, it is possible to take advantage of the empty space created between the basket and the carriage, to work at height despite the presence of obstacles lower than the point of operation. These single-column lifts have a manual drive system, arranged in the basket so that the operator can lift the table directly from within it and in complete autonomy.
Electric power supply
The compact dimensions of electrically powered vertical platforms make these devices particularly suitable for small spaces. The non-marking tyres fitted to these devices also prevent marks and damage to the surfaces on which the structure rests.
Diesel power supply
Compared to electrically powered models, diesel-powered aerial platforms are less compact and are more suitable for outdoor use where the ground is level and not too uneven. They often have efficient stabilisers, however.
They are preferred to the electric alternatives for outdoor construction work and industrial installations or wherever large areas have to or can be worked on. Due to their greater power, they can reach heights of up to 20 metres.
Hybrid power supply
Bi-powered, electric/diesel vertical aerial platforms combine the advantages of the previous types, allowing one power supply or the other to be used according to the needs of the job.
